Who we are and what we do

FRA is a very active residents association that serves the community of Fernwood, Cape Town. In representing the community we actively engage a range of organisations, individuals and commercial enterprises in dealing with numerous community issues.

Our mandate is to act within the terms of reference as contained in FRA's constitution and as provided at each years annual general meeting.

The primary purpose of this website is to keep residents in Fernwood up to date as well as provide external entities with access to information.

Membership is available to all Fernwood residents and owners of Fernwood property. The current cost is R150 per annum (see the Constitution & Membership page).

Almost all of the FRA committee members have full-time jobs.  They serve on the FRA committee in their spare time (for free) and their aim is to work as a team to ensure that Fernwood retains its voice in the local municipality, protecting the rights of the residents and the environment.
